Even if you are not lucky enough to be born with perfect teeth, it is never too late to have better-looking ones through braces in Lexington. Whether you want a Hollywood smile or have dental alignment issues that are causing you daily discomfort, braces in Lexington can make a huge difference for you. There are several orthodontic options available for you to choose from.
5 Types of Dental Braces in Lexington
Choosing the right type of braces in Lexington to correct your particular problem is crucial. There are several braces in Lexington to choose from, and what matters the most is getting the one that best fits your needs. Below is information about the different types of dental braces in Lexington that will help you pick the one that suits you the most.
Traditional Metal Braces in Lexington
These are the classic metal and bracket braces in Lexington that most people are familiar with. Thanks to technology, there has been notable progress in this type of braces in Lexington.
For example, they are now lighter in weight and structure compared to before. Today’s metal braces in Lexington are made from high-grade stainless steel with smaller brackets attached to each tooth. Additionally, there’s a new wire for metal braces in Lexington that uses your body heat to help move teeth more quickly and less painful than ever before.
Self-Ligating Metal Braces in Lexington
This type of braces is almost similar in appearance to traditional metal braces. However, unlike traditional metal braces, it uses brackets with clips/doors rather than elastic bands to hold the brace’s wires in place.
The upside of having clips or doors instead of elastic bands is that they cause less friction and pain for the patient. They are also supposed to hold less food, making it easier for the patient to keep their braces and teeth clean.
Ceramic Braces in Lexington
This type of braces in Lexington has the same size and shape as traditional metal ones. The key difference is that ceramic braces in Lexington have clear or tooth-colored brackets that blend in with your teeth.
The wires of this type of braces in Lexington can also be tooth-colored instead of silver-colored upon request to make them even less noticeable. Ceramic braces in Lexington are usually more expensive than traditional ones.
Lingual Braces in Lexington
Unlike the first two mentioned above, lingual braces in Lexington are attached to the back of the teeth instead of the front. This makes them virtually invisible from the outside. However, they can cause some discomfort as the tongue frequently comes into contact with the brackets.
Lingual braces in Lexington work the same way as traditional braces in straightening teeth. They are more expensive than both traditional and ceramic braces in Lexington.
Clear and Removable Braces in Lexington
This type of almost invisible braces in Lexington is commonly referred to by its brand name, Invisalign. Getting Invisalign braces will require you to wear custom-fitted, clear aligners every day until your teeth are straightened.
The aligners of this type of braces in Lexington are removable for eating and cleaning. They are also replaced every 2 weeks, taking into account the progress your teeth have made. Invisalign braces in Lexington are the most expensive option out of the five.

State-of-the-Art Technology for Patients
Varallo Orthodontics believes that to provide the right solutions for every patient, we have to make sure that we have the power of technology on our side. Our practice is equipped with some of the best machines in the industry. Some of them include:
iTero Intraoral Scanner
We use this machine so our patients can avoid the uncomfortable experience of having their dental impressions taken. The advanced 3D imaging technology in the iTero Intraoral Scanner allows us to capture an accurate imprint of your teeth and bite and make adjustments. Afterward, we send the generated result to one of our partnering labs for faster construction of your braces.
Digital X-Ray Machine
For a clearer and more accurate x-ray of your teeth, we use a digital machine that uses significantly less radiation while still delivering crisp images. The generated result allows Dr. Varallo and the team to ensure that you get a better diagnosis and receive subsequent treatment.
Some patients hope to have their orthodontic treatment expedited as much as possible. AcceleDent allows us to speed up your teeth’s movement through cyclic forces while you’re biting on the vibrating mouthpiece for 20 minutes. With this device, your dental adjustment’s duration can be significantly reduced!
Braces have a reputation of being painful for patients. With the Damon System, however, we hope to provide our clients with a more comfortable option for their treatment. The memory-shape wires allow for quicker and gentler adjustment so you can have a better smile with less unpleasantness.
